GETTING STARTED · TRY IT

Give your persona its first task

Start with a task small enough to judge. You’ll learn more from one useful exchange than from a long list of settings.

1. Open Planner’s chat

Open Planner in Agent Personas, then choose Open Chat. In the desktop app, chat may open in its own window.

2. Send a short brief

Paste this example into chat and send it:

Your first task
I’m planning a one-page website for a neighborhood bakery. It needs opening hours, a short menu, the address, and a way to ask about cake orders. Turn this into a launch checklist with no more than eight tasks. Work only from this brief. Don’t publish anything or contact anyone.

Wait for Planner’s reply. If it asks a question, answer it in the same conversation.

3. Refine the answer

Check whether the checklist covers the brief and puts the work in a useful order. You can ask for changes without starting over:

A follow-up
Separate the tasks into “Content I need to provide” and “Website work.” Keep each task to one sentence.

Review the result before using it. Ask the persona to explain any assumption that doesn’t match what you intended.

4. Look at what happened

Return to Persona Settings and open Run Logs if you want to inspect the work. The task may only need a written response, so it doesn’t have to make a tool call to be useful.

For future tasks, explain the result you want, provide the relevant information, and name any limits. For example: “Draft the reply, but don’t send it.”

If the persona doesn’t respond

You’ve now used one persona from setup to a completed task. Next, give it a teammate.
