Read usage and set token quotas

Use token quotas to limit new agent runs after a daily usage threshold. Read the provider’s own allowance separately from the token use recorded by PersonaStack.

Before you start

Open the provider connection under AI Providers. Check its Used by list. A quota on this connection applies across the personas using it.

1. Read the usage sections

Usage appears for supported subscription connections, including OpenAI ChatGPT / Codex and Anthropic Claude Code. Choose Refresh quota to request the provider’s allowance and reset information.

PersonaStack token use shows token usage reported for work through PersonaStack. It includes totals, daily and hourly charts, and the connection’s daily token-quota control when supported.

2. Set a daily provider quota

  1. Find PersonaStack token use.
  2. Turn on Daily token quota.
  3. Move the slider to the limit you want.
  4. Review today’s usage and the proposed remaining allowance.
  5. Choose Save quota and wait for Quota saved.

If the proposed limit is at or below current usage, the app asks you to confirm. Saving that limit blocks new runs under this quota until the usage day resets or you change the limit.

Turning the switch off is also a draft change. Choose Save quota to disable the saved limit.

3. Limit one persona

To give one persona its own limit, open that persona’s settings and find Token Quota. Turn on its daily quota, choose the amount, and save.

A persona’s own quota does not remove a provider or workspace limit. If a run is blocked, read the app’s message to find the scope that needs attention.

4. Check usage over time

Select a day or hour in a chart to inspect its reported counts. Open Cache details for the available cache totals. A dash means a count was not reported, so it should not be treated as zero.

The daily token-usage window resets at midnight UTC. The page displays the next reset time. Follow the labels on each chart for its time zone.

Common problems

Use Run Logs to inspect an individual failed task.
